FAQ

Answers to some common wedding photography questions

How long have you been a photographer?

I have been working in professional photography since 2004 but I have been taking photographs since my teens.

Do you visit the venue prior to the wedding day?

Yes, I will always go and see the venue beforehand, usually around four to six weeks prior to the date as this gives me a good idea of what the venue will be like on your wedding day. It’s also good for me as I get to plan where to take portraits and group shots on the day.

Why are your prices are so reasonable compared to other photographers?

My prices are based on an hourly rate giving you more flexibility; instead of charging you by half and full days you decide how long you want me for. This could potentially save you a lot of money.

Will we have an opportunity to meet prior to the wedding to discuss the types of photos and styles we would like?

Yes, I always suggest we meet up to discuss your wedding as it gives you the opportunity to meet me and for me to answer any questions you might have.

What equipment do you use?

I use Nikon camera equipment and always have done, I use both a Nikon D750 and a D610 with a range of professional lenses.

Do you have back up equipment?

Yes, I always carry spare cameras because even though I’ve never had one break on me, I consider it a must to have back up equipment to photograph your big day.

Are you insured?

Yes I have full public liability insurance.

What will you wear at our wedding?

I’m always smartly dressed for weddings – trousers, smart shoes, shirt and tie. Maybe a jumper if it’s cold, definitely no shorts and t-shirts (unless you request it!).

What if you are ill on our wedding day?

I would have to be extremely ill to not photograph a wedding but if it were to happen I have a network of trusted photographers that can photograph your wedding in my place. Anyone who covers a wedding in my place would be an experienced professional.

Do we get all of the images you shoot on the day?

You receive finalised images after I’ve edited them down. A  USB of your images comes as standard with all of the packages I offer.

Are the photos (both printed or digital) watermarked in any way?

No, there are no watermarks, all photos are supplied as high resolution 300DPI images ready for printing.

How many photographs will we get and how large can they be printed?

Typically I supply between 350-500 photos however this depends on the amount of time I am at your wedding for. Because the images are high resolution they can be printed quite large. Please talk to me about your exact printing requirements as I can explain how to get the best out of your images.

Do you require feeding on the day?

I bring my own food however if you want to provide me with something I would never turn it down.

Can we have a mixture of black & white and colour photos?

Yes, the USB will contain all the edited images in colour and all in black and white.

What and when do we pay?

A £250 deposit is required to secure your booking. The remainder of your bill is due 28 days before the wedding. If you would like to spread the cost over a few months please ask, I’m sure we can work something out.

How can we pay?

You can pay by bank transfer or cheque.

How do we book you for our wedding?

Please fill out the booking form available on the contact page and send it to me with your deposit, nice and simple.
